The opening plenary session and keynote addresses on Tuesday morning (8 December) will be followed by 21 technical sessions, during the afternoon and next two days, on a wide range of topics. The programme of conference sessions, with details of the papers that will be presented and discussed, is in the brochure.
On Monday 9 March there will be pre-event workshops on finance and small hydropower, a half-day city excursion around KL, as well as meetings for the speakers and chairpersons.
The Malaysian Committee on Large Dams (MYCOLD) has coordinated four other training workshops, to be held on 8, 9 and 10 December.
Two post-conference study tours in Peninsular Malaysia are available, lasting 3 days, ending back in KL where both groups will have a final dinner together.
Tour A will visit hydro plants and dams along the Perak river in the northwest of the country, as well as the Belum Rainforest Resort (a leading eco-tourism resort) and the Royal Belum state park.
Tour B will visit dams and hydro plants on the Terengganu river in the northeast of the country, with participants staying at a beach resort in Kuala Terengganu. Touristic elements include a boat trip, new drawbridge and an elephant sanctuary.
