HYDRO 2022
ROLES OF HYDRO IN THE GLOBAL RECOVERY
- Apr 27, 2022
We are pleased that all signs are positive to go ahead with an in-person HYDRO 2022 in Strasbourg in late April. France is open to the world, and already hosting international events. Members of the hydropower community are demonstrating their strong wish to get together, and we are ready with a comprehensive programme, to make up for the lost time.
The overall theme of the event will be the ‘Roles of hydro in the global recovery’ – meaning not only recovery from the pandemic and its economic consequences, but also hydro’s role in reducing further degradation of our planet from fossil fuel-based generation.
Click here to see the latest preview of the programme. Some changes were inevitable since our original programme was published, as delegates from a few countries still have travel restrictions in place. On the other hand, a number of new papers have been submitted, and additions to the programme will be announced shortly. Updates will be provided regularly on our website: www.hydropower-dams.com/hydro-2022 and through future mailings, as presentations are added to finalize the programme.
As mentioned at the end of our preview, there are still a few speaking opportunities available on the following themes: Maintenance and asset management; Electrical engineering; Cross-border collaboration; Floating solar PV on hydro reservoirs; Hydraulic machinery; Hydro plant safety; and, Challenges and achievements during the pandemic. If you would like to submit a proposal for a paper at this stage, please contact Margaret Bourke as soon as possible with a short abstract and details of the author(s): mb@hydropower-dams.com
If you have something to contribute to, or learn from, the discussions in Strasbourg, and would like to take this first opportunity in two years to get back together and meet colleagues and friends in the world hydro community, please register without delay.
You will need proof of vaccinations to enter France, and a negative Covid-19 test result prior to travelling (as of today’s date, 10 February).
Some spaces are still available in the Exhibition area, and/or to become a sponsor of some element of the event. For further details, please contact: Melanie Ganz or Tanita Chondrunaiko at: sales@hydropower-dams.com or visit the HYDRO 2022 section of our website here.
